Haniport Levee documentation for users of Windows XP

Haniport Levee ReadMe file

Welcome to Haniport Levee from the Longwood Wizards Guild. This information corresponds to Haniport Levee version 1.0.1.

This document describes Haniport Levee for users of MacOS X and Windows XP. The software and documentation are provided to you in accordance with your license agreement.

If you have installation problems, check for help online at

http://webstore.longwood.com/winxp/lwht/LwHtFAQs.html

We encourage you to read our license agreement carefully before agreeing to it. We think you'll like our Household License, especially if you have both Mac® and Windows® computers in your home.

And now, we'd like to anticipate some questions.

SHOULD I TRY BEFORE I BUY?

Yes. We strongly encourage you to try the software on your system to make sure it functions as you expect before you purchase a license. This is especially true if you plan to run the software on MacOS 9 (see restrictions above).

HOW DO I INSTALL THE PROGRAM?

Just run the Installer and answer the various questions on the screen as they come by.

For users of MacOS X (and MacOS 9):

Haniport_0101_Installer.app

For users of Windows 2000 and Windows XP:

Haniport_0101_Installer.exe

WHAT'S CHANGED FROM THE PREVIOUS VERSION?

This is version 1.0.1gm, the second public version of Haniport Levee 1.0, though the first version was available to a very limited audience in order to further verify the quality of the product. When compared against the features found in our earlier product (Seahaven Towers 2.0) the user may note major improvements in menu layout, preference and properties panels, and the help browser. When compared against version 1.0.0gm, the user will note a number of bugs have been fixed, but otherwise no new features have been added.

IS THERE ANY DOCUMENTATION?

Yes. The built-in help system contains a lot of information about the game, and you can reach it by selecting the Help Topics menu item from the Help menu. The Haniport Levee 1.0 Manual will eventually be available at our website, but it is not there just yet.

We did not include a manual in the installer because it added a lot of size to the installer and didn't have anything more to say than what was already in the embedded help system.

WHERE IS THE LOG FILE?

The log file is kept in the Longwood Wizards Guild folder, in a subfolder entitled Logs.

ARE THERE ANY KNOWN ISSUES?

There are some cosmetic issues with drawing and text editing (rarely encountered), but that's all we've uncovered thus far.

For the latest news on bugs and other issues, check online at our page for Frequently Asked Questions:

SHOULD I REPORT A BUG?

Yes, please. Our resources are pretty limited so we can't guarantee when a bug will be fixed or if it will be fixed, but we are certainly striving to make our products as good as possible, so we'd like to hear about problems. By comparison, the 2.0.3 release of Seahaven Towers has only two outstanding minor bugs that should be fixed if and when a 2.0.4 release is made available.
